VINBERG, Feodor (1861–1929) - Lot 275
VINBERG, Feodor (1861–1929) The Way of the Cross. The Roots of Evil. Second edition, Part I (standalone). Munich, 1922. 375 pp., in-8, later binding (retains the publisher’s cover), handwritten bookplate “Nikolai Kotliarewsky” on the title page, A.B.E. Rare (banned in the USSR). Fedor VINBERG (1861–1929) The Way of the Cross. The Roots of Evil. 2nd ed. Part 1 [and only]. Munich, 1922. 375 pp., 22.2 × 14.5 cm, owner’s binding (with original cover preserved), handwritten bookplate “Nikolai Kotliarevsky” on the title page, general condition: fair. Rarity (prohibited for import into the USSR). The book devotes particular attention to the role of the Jewish people in the collapse of the Russian Empire. Fyodor Viktorovich Vinberg (1861–1929) was a colonel in the Russian Army. He was a Master of the Royal Household, a colonel in Her Majesty Empress Alexandra Fedorovna’s Life Guard Uhlan Regiment, and an active opponent of Freemasons and non-Orthodox believers. Winberg was the first to publish “The Protocols of the Elders of Zion” in Europe. The books and the journal edited by Winberg are extremely rare, as Winberg’s extremism did not find much sympathy among the émigré community.
